Committees

Description

The Action Committee was formed in 2018 to work on issues that the Board of Managers of Mill Pond Acres believes are important and desirable for the community. The Action Committee focuses on one issue at a time. An example of this is the Buyers’ Fee that required an amendment to the Mill Pond Acres By-Laws.

Description

We are excited to introduce a NEW Committee to our community: The Mill Pond Enrichment Committee!  Our monthly activities might include group discussions, member presentations, or professional lectures. We will offer “Afternoons at the Movies”…ALWAYS with popcorn! These will feature a movie viewing in the Clubhouse followed by a discussion. Various volunteer opportunities can be proposed. We can address local and/or national issues. We can talk about how today’s technology impacts our lives…for better or worse.

At our first meeting, we’d like to get your ideas for programs that would be of interest to the entire community.

We are excited and hope you are, too!

Monthly events to be announced.

Description

The Entertainment Committee plans Mill Pond’s monthly social events. Events are varied and can include meals, entertainment, and music. Some events serve refreshments and some events have a fee. Annual events include our Holiday Party, New Year’s Day Open House Brunch, and Summer Barbecue. The Committee works hard to plan in advance and they also work hard during the events to make sure that all runs smoothly. The events give us all the opportunity to enjoy the company of our fellow Mill Ponders.

Events are open to all fully vaccinated Mill Pond Acres residents. Sometimes guests are permitted.

Check our calendar frequently to learn about upcoming entertainment you don’t want to miss!

Meetings & Fees

Some events are free and some have a fee.

Description

The purpose of the Sunshine Committee is to bring a bit of “sunshine” into the lives of residents, by sending greeting cards to them in the event of illness, bereavement, or milestone events. We also send cards to new residents to promote fellowship throughout the community.

The Sunshine Committee receives notification of events via email or personally from the Office Manager of Mill Pond Acres. Members of the community can also contact one of the committee members or the MPA manager.

The cards that we send are original photographs taken of different places in our community.

Mill Ponders who wish to contribute ideas or join the committee are welcome to do so by contacting Carol Kratenstein.

Description

The current Website Committee was formed in November 2020 to create a new website for Mill Pond Acres. The original website was not being utilized. A survey of the community informed the choice of items and information to be included in the new site. The idea was not only to make it useful for residents of MPA, but also for others who might be interested in moving here, either to a townhouse or to an apartment.
