Committees

Description

The Action Committee was formed in 2018 to work on issues that the Board of Managers of Mill Pond Acres believes are important and desirable for the community. The Action Committee focuses on one issue at a time. An example of this is the Buyers’ Fee that required an amendment to the Mill Pond Acres By-Laws.

Description

The monthly activities of the Enrichment Committe will  include group discussions, member presentations, or professional lectures. We will offer “Afternoons at the Movies”…ALWAYS with popcorn! These will feature a movie viewing in the Clubhouse followed by a discussion. Various volunteer opportunities may be proposed. We may address local and/or national issues. We may talk about how today’s technology impacts our lives…for better or worse.

As a result of our survey, we have received ideas for programs that should be of interest to the entire community.

Description

The Evening Entertainment Committee plans Mill Pond’s evening social events.  Events are varied and can include meals, entertainment and music. Some events serve refreshments and some events have a fee. Annual events include our Holiday Party, New Year’s Day Open House Brunch, and Summer Barbecue. The Committee members plan in advance and they work hard during the events to make sure that all runs smoothly. The events give us all the opportunity to enjoy the company of our fellow Mill Ponders.

Events are open to all Mill Pond Acres residents. Sometimes guests are permitted.

Check our calendar frequently to learn about upcoming evening entertainment you won’t want to miss!

Description

The purpose of the Sunshine Committee is to bring a bit of “sunshine” into the lives of residents, by sending greeting cards to them in the event of illness, bereavement, or milestone events. We also send cards to new residents to promote fellowship throughout the community.

The Sunshine Committee receives notification of events via email or personally from the Office Manager of Mill Pond Acres. Members of the community can also contact one of the committee members or the MPA manager.

The cards that we send are original photographs taken of different places in our community.

Mill Ponders who wish to contribute ideas or join the committee are welcome to do so by contacting Carol Kratenstein.
